The Texas College Steer football team headed west for a Sooner Athletic Conference clash against the Pioneers of Wayland Baptist. The win gives the Steers their first official win against Wayland Baptist since their 2013 matchup which saw the Steers take the 39-26 victory. The win was made even sweeter with the offensive Swiss Army knife T.J. Hookfin, Jr. dominating from the first whistle to the final horn. Hookfin would insert his name into the school history books with a record-setting 471 all-purpose yards. His totals were 336 yards through the air, 141 yards on the ground, and 6 total touchdowns.
