Khalyd Cox - Baseball

WACO, Texas – Khalyd Cox of Texas College was tabbed as the RRAC Baseball Player of the Week for April 8-14. This is the 12th set of weekly awards for the 2019 baseball season.

Cox connected on three home runs and contributed eight RBIs in a 3-2 week for the Steers. The senior outfielder went 2-for-4 at the plate with a homer and three RBIs in a 7-6 loss to Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas). Cox opened a three-game series against Wiley College (Texas) with two homers in a 19-6 victory, and he sparked a 9-2 win in the finale with two more hits and an RBI. For the week, the Tampa native was 7-for-16 at the plate with a double, three walks and seven runs scored. Cox is batting .324 on the season, and he is now tied for sixth in the RRAC in homers with six. TXC improves to 10-13 in conference play and 20-27 overall.
